Waterfowl Lakes

This view was an unexpected present. We, my wife and I, we’re there in June 2011. The month before it was a very cold May in the Rocky Mountains. A lot of lakes were still frozen. We heard that it was even possible to ski in Whistler at the end of May.

The first lake we visited along the Icefield Parkway was Lake Louise. We had heard and read a lot about it. That it was a beautiful view but unfortunately there was a lot of ice. Also Hector lake was completely frozen. Which was a beautiful sight but we had read a lot about the beautiful azure blue lakes of the Rockies. So, Waterfowl lakes was an unexpected view. The sun was at the right spot, a few clouds in the sky and a small enough aperture to have a sharp photo. I consider this one of my most beautiful photos of our holiday.
