Winter Wonderland

A magical forest i walked in that day. From the tips of the trees to the bushes on the ground, everything was completejy covered in white  The 24 hours before it had snowed almost continuously which is pretty rare in the Netherlands. In the forest there was a serene silence. You did not hear anything. No birds singing, no wind stirring the trees.  I only heard (and saw) my own footsteps in the snow. I made a lot of nice photos that day but this one I like the most. What I like about this photo is that the tree together with the bending branch kind of frame the image. They lead the viewers eye further into the photo. I decided at home to convert the photo to black and white because there was almost no color in the photo except for the dark brown of the tree trunk.
